Dr. Mudryk offers a wide variety of adjusting techniques. We strive to adapt to what the patient is comfortable with and what type of adjusting is most appropriate for the problem at hand. We incorporate both Neurologic Adjusting techniques which are not as much bone based with more structurally based techniques that move bones so that the patient can get the best of both types. Neurologic based techniques can be as gentle as “non-force techniques” to using a more gentle instrument. Along side of that, Dr. Mudryk and Dr. Danaher takes the time analyze your spine and x-rays very specifically so that the most specific adjustment can be delivered. We are not just spending 3 mins seeing you on each visit, blindly cracking your spine, and hoping for relief. Often times patients are intrigued as they watch Dr. Mudryk and Dr. Danaher analyze their x-ray films down to the millimeter so that he knows exactly where and what vector to adjust their spine.
Instrument based adjusting for the even most sensitive patients: In our office, we utilize the ease and precision of instrument based adjusting. One of the many instruments that Dr. Mudryk utilized is Arthrostim. It offers a very broad range of versatility of force, vibration, and different heads to best suit the patient’s needs. Furthermore, Dr. Mudryk and Dr. Danaher uses the Impulse adjusting instrument. Technical video of Impulse. Although Impulse is widely used in our office, it is not the only instrument or technique that we use. We consider our office to be very adaptive to all patient with all kinds of needs. We are focused on using the most appropriate gentle and effective technique possible. If we find the need, we will discuss a more traditional higher force adjustment before proceeding with that adjustment.
The main treatment that is delivered in our office differs from those of a traditional chiropractor. For many years, the goal has been to adjust the bones back into their “proper alignment” however, our main technique does not make this it’s primary goal. We consider these Neurologically based techniques. Although we still make adjustments to the spine, the primary goal is not to just move bones, but to also stimulate the nervous system to make global changes within body (including changes to the bones, muscles, organs etc…) This is accomplished naturally by allowing the body to:
- Become more aware the intended area of stress, damage, and imbalances that are being stored in that area
- Become more connected or integrated with the brain (central nervous system)
- Stimulate numerous types of receptors that communicate with the brain called mechanoreceptors
- Here are some types of mechanoreceptors:
Proprioceptors – Tells the brain where the joint is in space
Golgi Tendon organs – tells the brain about muscle tonicity and position
Muscle Spindles – tells the brain about muscle tonicity and position
MORE TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES ALSO AVAILABLE: Thompson Drop, Pierce, Toggle Recoil, Diversified, S.O.T, Activator
Dr. Mudryk and Dr. Danaher will utilize more traditional techniques, as found necessary, that are more geared toward facilitating or forcing the bones into a more normal alignment. Although these techniques are more of a traditional technique, yet they still do not incorporate any twisting or cracking. These techniques are utilized in those patients who have gross spinal distortions, spinal stress patterns, and/or major misalignment.
