Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care

Although Neurologically-based Chiropractors make adjustments to the spine, the primary focus is not completely on spinal alignment, but also on normalizing and balancing nerve system function.

This process of balancing or awakening bad nerve patterns in joints and muscles, the body is able to self-correct and self-heal these problems. Pain disappears, joints begin to move better, and a sense of well-being emerges. Most often, neurologically based chiropractors use instruments and/or lighter forces to stimulate these changes. The goal is not always to force bones into a new position, but to rather let the body make these changes on its own.

Neurologically-based Chiropractic care is branch of chiropractic that focuses on the proper function of the central nervous (nerve) system and it’s direct connection to all 50 trillion cells in your body. This differs from conventional chiropractic that primarily focuses on misaligned bones of the spine (bones stuck out of place) which sometimes is only pain based.

We base our principles and our practice on the fact that the nerve system controls and coordinates everything within the body, including the position of your spine, the tone of your muscles, and the function of your organs. We offer conventional Chiropractic along-side more up-to-date Chiropractic to get the best of both worlds.

Impulse Adjusting Instrument

Dr. Mudryk has utilized the Impulse adjusting instrument for many years. We have found it to be a favorite over people even if they enjoyed the twisting and cracking of their previous Chiropractor. The Impulse adjusting instrument was born out of more than a decade of research and engineering. It was made after the research was done, not vice-versa. Not only is it made to adjust the spinal bones more effectively than the hand, but it also effects the surrounding muscles quite effectively. Like a finely tuned engine, the instrument attempts to oscillate the vertebra up and down 12 times every 2 seconds. This frequency also stimulates mechanoreceptors in the surrounding muscle to relax and reset their tone. After all, your bones are held in position by ligaments and muscles.

Imagine that your nervous system and spinal cord as a guitar string. If it is too tight or too loose the tone of the information is altered. Or you could compare it to the volume of music. If the volume coming out of the speaker is too loud it causes distortion, this type leads to muscle spasms, internal organ complaints, musculoskeletal stresses and diminished immune response. Too low a volume, your body is then unable to receive critical messages, showing up as sluggishness, low energy, reduced performance and poor muscle support. Torque Release looks to correct these problems by normalizing and balancing the function of the nerves, spinal cord, and brain.

The primary intent of Torque Release Technique is to reduce blockages and tension of the entire spinal system, to release trapped unresolved patterns in the body/mind and facilitate reintegration of the nervous system, allowing a greater expression of ones healing and performance capabilities. This technique is the primary technique of Dr. Mudryk and is the technique used to maintain wellness in those who want to stay healthy for the rest of their lives.

After each adjustment, the body is given time to process the change. Correction continues with your body’s natural movements and breathing. It is simply amazing how such specific light forces cause such a drastic change within the body. This is due to the ability of the body to learn to make its own corrections where we haven’t even provided an adjustment. Healing progresses with repetition and frequent visits during the initial intensive and corrective care phases. During the wellness phase, since your body has learned and has memory, the adjusting process is simple, quick, and powerful.

Torque Release Techniques

Torque Release chiropracture uses a gentle touch and light thrusting small hand-held instrument called an Integrator.

Rather than twisting or forcing bones into position, this low-force adjusting method stimulates the nervous system to reset conditioned patterns that generate malfunction and pain. This resetting causes the nervous system to understand new self-correcting information and to process it throughout the entire spinal cord and brain.

Most often this interests patients because it in turn helps with pain and also changes spinal position that you would see on an x-ray. These changes or resets effect the entire spine and body, not just where the adjustment took place.

Flexion-Distraction

This is a gentle, non-force adjusting approach. The thing that most patients notice first is the special table. The movements of this table help traction the spine, opening up compressed spinal discs and reducing pressure on facet joints of the spine. You could easily compare it to an accordian gently drawing apart each joint allows the spine to reset, and the pumping action enhances soft tissue nutrition and rehabilitation. Its primary purpose is to reduce compression of the joints of the back and disc herniations that cause pain. This technique is not generally used once you have reached the wellness phase.

By lying on the table, neutralizing the effects of gravity, we’re able to gently separate spinal joints and move them through a more normal range of motion. Patients find this surprisingly pleasant. We find it powerfully effective.
